City Hall Closed For the Holiday

City Hall will be closed on Friday, May 24th and Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28th.

👮 Grand Opening - Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Store

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office announced the grand opening of its first off-campus recruitment center at the Thousand Oaks Mall. Located on the second floor near Women’s Macy’s, the center aims to enhance community engagement and accessibility for those interested in law enforcement careers. It will also feature a classroom for training sessions by the Ventura County Criminal Justice Training Center. Sheriff Jim Fryhoff emphasized the initiative's role in expanding a skilled and diverse workforce. The grand opening is scheduled for May 28, 2024, at 11:30am. More info

🆓 Free and Low-Cost Services

🪴 $250 Grant for Native Plants

The Conejo Valley Audubon Society's Lawns to Habitat Program offers $250 grants and an hour of free landscape design advice to convert lawns to native habitats. Applications are accepted from May 1 to June 15, 2024. The program aims to promote water conservation, beautify yards, and support wildlife. Eligible participants must replace a lawn or non-native plants, be property owners in specific areas, and be ready to plant by September-November. The program includes assistance with plant selection and garden design. More info
